Philips PD9000/37 9-Inch LCD Portable DVD Player with 5 Hour Battery, White

- This player (PD9000/37) is a region free portable 9" wide screen Divx DVD player. It works off the box very nicely. Most control 'switches' and ports i.e power, dvd open, ear phone etc are on the sides. The control buttons (play, stop, forward, menu etc are accesible when you open the screen. The outside is white and when you open it's black on the inside. The screen is very nice and playing of discs was flawless. I checked DVDs, VCDs and some Divx home videos. All of them played well. If you pop in a divx disc with avi files, it will list directories and/or file and you can highlight the desired file and click play. you can do that with the remote as well. The audio quality is okay. The…
- This is our 2nd portable DVD player. I was hesitant to purchase one again after so many bad reviews of many different brands. I have delayed purchasing for about 6 months until I found this product. Our Kawasaki player stopped working well after 5 yrs of occasional use and little fingers touching the sensor many times. We use a portable DVD player for trips and sometimes at home.I'm very pleased with this product. The price is excellent for the quality and screen size. I specifically wanted one that had an AV output to easily hookup to a hotel TV (this is when the remote comes in very handy) and had a memory function. We recently enjoyed a favorite DVD hooked up to our hotel room TV.Includes:~…

RCA DRC6272 Twin Mobile DVD Players - play two different DVDs!
,
at
7/01/2012
- We're very happy with our purchase. We bought this item before a long road trip, and are pleasantly surprised at the quality. An even greater feature is that the DVD player comes with plugs so you can connect it to your home TV, hotel TV, whatever, and watch it almost anywhere. While at Grandmas house we can now put him on the floor and he has his own little TV, and does not monopolize ours. :-)I love the remote controls, only wish they also controlled the volume. Only other downside is you can't merely run it off of battery power- it has to be plugged in. Very happy with this purchase though, and would recommend it.
- These worked great for a trip from Cali. to Michigan. Love that both players play different movies. Volume works great as some systems are too quiet without headphones. I have had no problems with either of them. Nice crisp pictures.

Sylvania SDVD8732 7-Inch Dual Screen Portable DVD Player with Built In 3.5 Hour Battery Life and USB/SD Card Reader
,
at
6/30/2012
- This is a good portable DVD player, I bought it not cause I wanted to use DVD's in it but rather to load movies on the SD card. The player really seems cheaply built, the tray's ejector is too strong for the clip holding it so one side sticks out a bit and sometimes it says the tray is open. (Can be an issue while driving as bumps in the road will force that warning)No one ever listed the optimal screen resolution and video container after much trial and error I will post what I found as the best settings in my opinion.AVI FormatXVID CodecMP3 Audio outputScreen resolution can be no higher then: (Pixels) 640 H × W 360 This give the best screen resolution.
- It hits all of the major bullet points that we were looking for, and I couldn't find anything else that did.-Battery powered-Plays from SD Card-Has mounting system for car-Dual screenAs other reviewers have mentioned, it really could use some documentation on the types of video it plays back. After a bunch of trial and error, I found the following:-Does not playback h264.-Recognizes .avi and .mp4.-Will play xvid through .avi container.-I couldn't get the .mpg extensions to work, but other folks said they could. Not sure what setting I had wrong.-Needs to be widescreen (720x480). Other sizes refuse to play-MPEG4 through a .mp4 container works. AAC audio works. 1200 bitrate works, but I suspect…

Sangean H201 AM/FM Digital Shower Radio
,
at
6/27/2012
- A couple of years ago my wife bought me some no-brand shower radio that never worked right. It could only tune in a couple stations and the clock never kept time. I recently decided it was time to get a 'real' shower radio and I'm very happy that I chose this one. It pulls in lots of stations, the clock and display are great, it is easy to use, and it is well made. The only negative is that the sound sometimes sounds a little muffled, which I'm guessing is due to the waterproof speaker. It's not too bad though and shouldn't discourage you from purchasing this great product.
- Bought this to replace a Sony shower radio I've had for years. I was amazed at the difference in quality. The sound is superb, it sounds like you have a component hifi in the bathroom. I use it mostly, but not only, to listen to the news, and the voice quality is amazingly clear. The volume can be set very loud with no distortion. One great little feature that is not described well in the listing is that the FM antenna in the back swings around to become a beautiful and very solid semi-circular handle for the radio, so you can carry it around the house very easily. FM reception is outstanding, AM so-so, but that's inevitable and due to my location.

Jensen 3-Speed Stereo Turntable with AM/FM Stereo Radio (Silver)
,
at
6/21/2012
- This product does what it's supposed to do; it plays records and has a radio. Though LP's do stick over the side, I havn't had any problems with them. Though the product discription neglects to mention it, there is an adapter for 45s that sits nicely in the player which itself doesn't take up a lot of space.
- This unit is a great option for causal listening of your records. The table on the one that I received was not level but for the price I can deal with it. The unit's volume is loud enough and the added headphone jack located on the front of the unit is very nice. I would pass on this unit if you are a hardcore record listener though. The sound quality is that of a small radio, and the buttons and knobs feel very cheap. You get what you pay for. If you want an affordable solution to listen to your old records you can't beat this deal. If you are a hardcore collector or audiophile you'll want to look elsewhere.
