- I bought this item to take with me while camping. The great attractive feature was the fact that we could listen to the radio and the weather station while in the woods without the need for batteries.This feature works very well. It makes it a green product, since you save loads of batteries, just using the handle to charge it. One thing we notice though, was during our last camping trip, a winter one. The temperatures was below freezing (around 29'F/-2'C) and the radio was working perfectly fine, but the battery would last less longer (wich is not exactly a major problem).
