- Great amp for the money and was very much impressed with the sound and low noise. I bought this for my son and both guitar and voice were clear even using two monitors and two main speakers. Plenty enough volume but wanted to get another one to drive voice and instruments separately so just ordered the PTA1400. - I purchased this amplifier from Amazon about a month ago now (I have since returned it). The amplifier seemed to be well-built, but when I hooked it up, only one channel worked from from the get-go.I did some trouble-shooting (switching speakers, cables, and even inputs from right to left and left to right). The speakers worked fine on my old amplifier, but as I said, one channel was totally dead with the new amplifier. I was going to exchange it, but decided to just keep my old amplifier for now.I gave it three stars because of the ease of the Amazon return policy, it was nothing to print the return form and label and repack it back in the same box and return it.
