  • I had an Onkyo TX-DS494 for 10yrs, & I finally decided to upgrade so I would have HDMI inputs as well as decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio. I thought I would go with the Onkyo TX-NR509 since I loved my previous one. What a mistake, Onkyo quality has really taken a nose dive. I had to return 2 of them for the same issue of the HDMI standby pass-through feature not working. I was only getting a picture and no sound with the receiver off.   • I owned the 367 model receiver and loved it. I wanted to stick wth a Yamaha receiver when I upgraded to HDMI full 1080p connections. I really liked the on-screen set-up programming. This receiver works great and makes switching between sources so easy. I highly recommend any of the Yamaha surround sound receivers.
