- Purchased this as a function of an audio upgrade to my home theatre system. In that this is just a subwoofer, there's not much to say other than it's appearance is pleasing, it has excellent form and fit... and it adds all the punch I was looking for. The choice of using this particular subwoofer was motivated by the fact that the main sound compnonts are also Yamaha. Integrating this subwoofer into the system is therefore seamless, i.e. when the entire system is powered down, the subwoofer power is also powered down.
- I have owned larger more expensive JBL down firing powered subwoofers and bose speakers in the past. For the money and size, this Yamaha unit works extremely well. Although I'm running mostly sony components, this unit has the power to handle a 7.1 surround system set up. Other than the low price of around $200.00, the size is the main reason that I bought this unit. It can either fit under a bed, or in a small space. I have it stuck inside a closet and it works great. The bass is very clear and only needs to be adjusted on the unit to about the half way mark. I would definately recommend this Yamaha unit to anyone looking for a subwoofer to complement their system or upgrade.
