  • Wonder ful reciever, great sound, lots of HDMI ports, can upgrade 1080i to 1080p, easy menu, and it allows me to rename all source inputs - very handy for these days where "PS3" and "APPLE TV" become more typical inputs than DVD or CD...Reviewing this receiver was very beneficial to me. I was about to rate 4 stars as it had only 2 optical inputs, which I preferred over HDMI for audio, based on some percpetion I had about HDMI being only for stereo. I did some research to seei if I was going to publish rubbish, and as a matter of fact I was: I just learned the HDMI is much superior, it handles 7.1 and TrueHD while optical does not go beyond 5.1.   • I purchased this Receiver after analyzing a lot of options for some time.At the end, I pulled the trigger and went for this unit, as reviews mentioned it had the best sound available for products in the same price range.Right from the start, the receiver had issues, which was really a bummer for me.The receiver kept locking itself, wouldn't change functions (between Net/USB and BD), Airplay didn't work OK all the time. Some of the time I had to completely disconnect the unit from the power to restart it.I changed my HDMI cables with the ones that this unit specified (High-Speed HDMI), and this aleviated some of the problems, but not all of them.I guess Denon rolled these receivers out without…
