  • Item works as described. A bit confusing in that have to choose "port" mode on TX-8050 receiver, which then uses the HD tuner. The display does go back to the FM/AM freq and also then shows HD. Also note that the HD will go in and out if the signal drops. The transition is smooth and holds in HD if the signal is good. The improvement in audio is noticable but is not earth shattering. I think it's a bit high price for what you get, but it does work and seems to have no problem with getting HD on all HD FM stations in chicago at my house in suburbs.   • Some reviewers have complaind that their device either was DOA or had poor reception. When mine arrived, the first thing I did was to read the instructions. The next thing I did was follow the instructions and what do you know; the device works beautifully! I am running this HD "module" on a new TX NR-5009. The first thing that the reciever did was to produce no sound just like the UP-HT1. I read the instructions on the NR-5009 so I was prepaired for the no sound situation (just like the UP-HT1), as such, I did not box up and return my devices and write a bad review, instead I assigned the inputs and set the sound fields.
