I actually only wanted a simple system strictly for listening to music, but after going to a local retailer and hearing the TSI400's, I immediately decided that I had to forget about my budget and get these speakers. I listened to several speakers at the store including the TSI300's, TSI400's and TSI500's. I also listened to some Pioneer and Bose speakers that they had on display. With the Polk's the sound was cleaner, warmer and richer than any other speaker I'd heard that day. - I have the TSI400 (bi-amped) towers running off a VSX-1021 with CS10, FXi A4s, and the new SVS PC12-NSD sledge400 amp and this setup is absolutely amazing. I could tell a significant difference in the TSI400s after bi-amping, the low end of midrange was much improved. Of course, the SVS is doing everything under 80Hz (crossover). I ran the MCACC to get the general calibration and only tweaked it slightly to my preferred taste. One thing I will mention is that MCACC set all my speakers as LARGE. If you have a sub, go back and set ALL of them to SMALL. This will ensure your sub is handling all the bass under your crossover setting. These towers are very neutral and accurate.
