- I purchased this item on 07/28/2011 to improve the sound of my recently acquired (from Amazon.com) 47" Toshiba 3D LED-LCD TV. The internal TV speakers by themselves are inadequate. Both the soundbar and subwoofer work like a charm - what a difference in overall sound quality! The soundbar system also looks "great" and perfectly matches my television. Installation was "extremely" simple just a single HDMI cable is needed to make the connection between the speakers and the HDMI/ARC on the TV. - I found the sound of the Panasonic SC-HTB250 2.1 to be very acceptable for my family room TV. The room is a great room connected to an open kitchen, so a traditional wired 5.1 system would be cumbersome. In addition to the size of the room the height of the room is at least 20 feet so wiring a set of rear speakers would take a lot of wire. I considered a wireless set but the shape of the room would have been difficult to balance. The sound bar puts out a very life-like sounds and even fools you as to its origins.
