  • The 650a is a well built amp considering the lack of choice in the mid priced stereo two channel marketplace. It is probably one of the better choices in that category. Unfortunately it is a reflection of the lack of interest in two channel stereo these days, unless you have the wallet for the hi end , esoteric market. If you, like me, are used to listening to the big, powerful, well built integrated amps of the late 70's and early 80's, you are in for a disappointment. No phono preamp, a rather anemic delivery. Clean, quiet, yes, but lacks the real punch and guts of the older amps. Rather cold and unengaging for sure. Not sure why all the kudos about this amp. Maybe like I mentioned above,…
  • I'll be quick here...It's a tad bright... That's it! Otherwise it was breeze to set up. It puts out GREAT sound with my Sci-Fi Tesla speakers, and it's very simple to use. With this amp, you'll get truly separated sound... Left and right speakers will never sound the same again if you're coming from low to mid-end receivers. The sense of stage and presence isn't as good as the hundred thousand dollar setups i've heard at a local hi-end shop... But pair these with some worthwhile speakers and put out a REALLY good sound.
