- This is a review of the Bose 301 Series IV, purchased as a used pair and recently installed in our library as part of a backup system. The amplifier that drives them is a plain-vanilla Sherwood purchased new about 9 months ago from the Radio Shack.These speakers may not be the absolute best in every category, but I find them very musical, and nowhere near as bad as some of the negative buzz would suggest. - I am a music lover who became distant to my favorite hobby due to a busy work schedule. I came across these speakers at a music store and after carefully listening to three other speakers in this range I settled for these for its balanced sound. these speakers will make you hear all the sounds that were muted before. It is just amazing. There might be better speakers out there but at a much higher price range. Quite frankly I am very pleased with my purchase and I re-discovered my hobby.
